Cedar City to Panguitch, biking day 12 (July 21)

Today we rode up cedar canyon road. It had many 9-11% grades for extended periods.
This ride seriously kicked my butt. I will fully admit I walked a portion to save my knees. The views were outstanding!
Andrew and I met Rebecca and the kids at the top of the mountain where we saw Cedar Breaks National Monument.
I also made some sandwiches in the camper and took a little while to rest after the climb.

Once again we were facing some pretty bad storms rolling in so we had to get moving down the mountain quicker than we would've liked.  We had climbed about 5000 feet to the top of the mountain and so we thought we'd have a fantastic descent. However, much of the decent was filled with ups and downs flats and headwinds.

We did run into a huge pack of sheep on the way down which was kind of fun.
The final five or 6 miles in to town was an amazing decent and we got incredible speeds and had great views.

I stopped at Arby's to get a bite to eat while I waited for Rebecca to pick me up but Andrew decided he want to ride the other 33 miles to the campground.
He's braver than I, although then again he does weigh about 80 pounds less than I and mountain climbing isn't the same for him as it is for me. Headwinds on the other hand...
