Redwoods and more

It has officially been a week since we left our home.  I think we are getting into a routine now.  Today was the first real rest day, meaning the camper stayed put for a second night.

John was able to get in a longer ride today. The ride was supposed to be very flat but a "hill" in the middle ended up having almost 1000 feet of vertical gain over less than 2 miles. John was able to meet several local riders and get some information on riding in California. I was able to do some shopping at Target!!!  A familiar store! :)

We met up along the Avenue of the Giants!  These trees are soooo big.  The photos will show this but it is really something to see them in person.

We also took a 20 minute boat ride on the Humboldt Bay.  Madaket is the oldest vessel in continuous service in the U.S.

This evening Charlotte earned a treat!  The campground rents these tricycle recumbent bikes for kids.  She had a blast even though it took a while to learn how to operate.

Tomorrow we are on the road again to San Francisco.
